The Humane Society of Highlands County, FL is a no-kill for space, not-for-profit organization helping unwanted dogs and cats find their forever homes.
We exist only on donations from you.

 

The Humane Society operates 100% by donation. We are a no-kill for space shelter. We often take in the sick, hurt, unwanted, abused and lonely. We are the last chance for our animals to find loving homes. We comfort them, we heal their wounds, we listen to their cries and we cry with them. They soon learn we are their family until the day a new family sees the wonderful animal they are. We then shed tears of joy as we watch them walk out the door. We pray that their new family will love and care for them. We then wait for the next animal to fill their kennel, and the cycle starts over.
